Green skills and careers are a vital part of our future and there are lots around!

Have you ever thought of a career in Waste Management?

Last academic year, our team gave career talks at Clyst Vale Community College, Uffculme, Exeter College and Queen Elizabeth’s, Crediton. They shared their experience of various roles in Waste Management while showing their personal journeys about how they got to the jobs they have got. You can book the team to come to your school here: https://zone.recycledevon.org/portfolio-item/careers-talks/

Our intern, Oliver, carried out a memorable visit to students at Exeter College, using video making as an activity to talk about green careers. Many campanies and the public sector are increasingly using social media and making videos to showcase their industry or advertise what they offer, in fun, accessible ways.

If you have a skill then Waste Management could want you! Waste management is a diverse sector. There are roles in engineering, vehicle maintenance, law and communications, along with many more. You don’t necessarily have to have a background in the environmental sector, as lots of transferable skills are needed too.
