Recycling Minibeasts

Meet the recycling minibeasts living in a compost bin.

This video was developed for parents to watch with their child as a follow-up to a ‘Minibeasts in the Compost Bin’ workshop (part of the Devon Waste Education Programme.)  It includes footage of real minibeasts and children acting as minibeasts.

The children in the video have been transformed into recycling minibeasts in a compost bin, just as your child’s class was during the workshop. As you watch the video together, you could talk about what your child enjoyed and learnt during the workshop. Having watched this video, don’t miss its sequel ‘Plants Love Compost’, then finish by singing the ‘Compost Bin Song’ together!

This short video is designed for KS2 pupils and shows the main stages in the industrial paper recycling process. If you are making your own recycled paper, watch it in conjunction with ‘Home Paper making ’, so that pupils can see the similarities between the industrial process and the way we make recycled paper at home and school.
