Speedy the Snail

by Storm, age 10

There was once a snail who lived by a school. He lived in a crack, in the wall. His name was Speedy, he was faster than average snails. Each morning, Speedy would go and visit his friend Fluffy, Fluffy was the class pet. He was a hamster.

Every year, class two visited the museum so Fluffy could roam free. today, however, class two had been so naughty, the teachers cancelled the trip into the museum.

Speedy sped as fast as he could to see his friend Fish instead.

Looking for some lettuce to eat, Speedy slid into the bin, hoping for leftovers. A look of horror struck his face as an awful sight met his eyes. Three whole packets of whole nectarines were perfectly edible yet had been thrown away. Ten empty plastic water bottles had been carelessly chucked in the bin. Worst of all, there were piles upon piles of paper towels. What a MESS!

Disgusted, Speedy tried to think of a plan. Then, he got an incredible idea. Like in the book, The Snail and the Whale, he could leave a trail on the board! He wrote it as fast as possible.

Please remember…

Reduce: only use 1 paper towel.

Reuse: Bring in reusable bottles.

Recycle: recycle old into new!

Don’t waste food!

Help the earth!

To his dismay, nothing had changed by the following week. feeling sad, he realised his mistake. He had forgotten it was half term!

After the half term had ended there was a lot to do about the “anonymous note”. However Speedy did notice a change. they had introduced recycling and were so much better.

The End.

Global warming is causing climate change!

When we burn rubbish, it releases greenhouse gases which contributes to global warming.

This is the only earth we’ve got.

Don’t let it die!
