Are you an amazing author? Can you write a creative, compelling, curious 500 word short story about waste?
Our Waste Education Team are running a short story competition for children aged 7-14. You can enter if you are a child aged between 7 and 14 and living in Devon (not Torbay or Plymouth). Stories should be about a topic on rubbish or waste, including plastic pollution, reducing waste, composting, reusing, recycling or even Bonster the Hungry Monster. Illustrations alongside the story are also welcomed.
The deadline for entries is the 22nd July 2025. Submit entries to the email address: recycle@devon.gov.uk or post to the Waste Education Team, Room 120, County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter EX2 4QD.
