We had a brilliant opportunity for Year 12 students to find out more about the waste management industry and learn lots more about green skills and careers.
The demand for green skills is fast growing with the UK facing green skills gap of 200,000 workers – IEMA
Waste management is a diverse sector, but often a misunderstood or undervalued one. There are roles in engineering, vehicle maintenance, law and communications, along with many more. You don’t necessarily have to have a background in the environmental sector, as lots of transferable skills are needed too.

Our week gave 6 Y12 students the opportunity to learn more about our diverse and welcoming sector. Plus they had fun with a range of activities designed to show what a career in waste could look like.
