  • Consider non-battery alternatives. For example, when buying toys for children, choose items that don’t use batteries.
  • Choose renewable energy sources like a wind-up radio or torch, dynamo bicycle lights, or a solar-powered phone chargers or calculators.
  • Buy rechargeable batteries for items that need batteries eg. TV remotes
