New Teacher Training. Join our Waste Education Team at Exeter EfW Plant as we invite you to some free Teacher Training on the 26th April 2023.

Please note this event is aimed at Devon based Teachers and school adults only

Come and join us on the 26th April between 9:30 and 15:30 at the Exeter Energy Recovery Facility for our FREE ‘Greener Schools’ event. This event is aimed at Devon Primary Schools. There will be opportunities throughout the day for networking with other delegates, sign posting to resources and funding opportunities, presentations from Devon Wildlife Trust and a Devon Primary School who have incorporated sustainability into school life.

This free event is limited to 20 delegates, so if you are interested in attending please sign up for a ticket as soon as possible .

Provisional timetable for the day

9:30- 9:45 Arrival, tea and coffee

9:45-10:00 Overview of the day and icebreaker

10:00- 10:45 Inspiring presentation by Devon Primary school detailing their journey to sustainability

10:45- 11:00 Support available for Devon schools

11:00-11:15 Break: tea, coffee and networking

11:15- 12:00 Information and tour around the Exeter Energy from Waste Plant (this trip is offered to schools)

12:00- 12:30 Science curriculum resources and activities on waste and materials for KS1/2

12:30-13:00 Lunch and networking

13:00-13:15 Presentation from Devon Wildlife Trust about their work in schools

13:15- 14:40 Round robin of outdoor activities* run by the Devon Waste team and Devon Wildlife Trust suitable for primary school classes looking at wildlife, habitats, compost and litter.

14:40-15:10 Tackling barriers to sustainability in your school, world cafe activity.

15:10- 15:30 Summary of the day and evaluation

* bring appropriate outdoor clothing. These activities will be run in the area managed by Devon Wildlife Trust adjacent to the EfW plant

There is parking at the Energy Recovery Facility but we do encourage delegates to use public transport if possible.
